I wasn't going to review this movie on my blog at first, but I kept seeing the drastic 'one-star vs. five-star' disparity on review websites and I needed to come on the air and clarify some things...

The setting and costumes were beautiful. I'm sorry if you didn't like the outfits and the set designs, but that's no reason to bash the movie. Have a little respect for the people that take their time and create outfit sketches and such. The movie was aesthetically beautiful and everything I wanted to see. Now, here comes the part that the screenwriters of this movie aren't going to like.

Your plot sucked. There were so many plot holes. For example, if Steve was reincarnated in Trevor's body and everyone just saw Trevor as... well, Trevor, he would have a passport. They wouldn't need to steal a plane. Not to mention, Steve definitely wouldn't have had a chance lifting that plane off the ground. Aeronautic engineering came a long way from 1940 to 1980.

Maxwell Lord was a laughable character. The actor had a great performance, but the way the people behind the movie wrote him... He's a cliche. He's predictable and boring. I knew everything that he was going to say/do because he is a stereotype. Now, don't get me wrong. Sometimes, stereotypes are acceptable if they are well-done and sparse in the movie, but EVERYONE in this movie is a stereotype.

Barbara, the cheetah lady, is the nerd-turned-bitch stereotype. Diana is the good-girl stereotype. Honestly, I didn't relate to any of these characters. At least, in the first movie, there was some level of originality.

This movie felt like a knock-off or a remake of a movie from the 80s. Some may argue that's the point. I get it, it's SUPPOSED to feel that way, but... maybe I came into this movie expecting too much. Diana was definitely a stagnant character. I mean, she did do something noble at the end, so credit to you all there.

For anyone who hasn't seen a superhero movie, this would be a great place to start. It's nostalgic and innocent.

I came into the movie theater to watch it with my family, and, at the end of the day, we all had a good time and that's what I'm going to remember this movie as.

In summation, do not go to watch WW84 expecting something original. Go to see it expecting to watch a remake of an old superhero movie.

Final Score- 3/5
